ABOUT THE WORKPLACE MENTAL HEALTH CHARTER

Experiencing a mental health challenge is hard enough. Fear of judgement, shame and isolation just makes it that much harder. That's why we’ve partnered with the Workplace Mental Health Charter who work to end mental health stigma and discrimination.

Some of the great things we’re doing at Cairn Group include:

  • All our supervisors and managers are trained in Mental Health Awareness, and all our venues host a ‘Coffee Catch Up Session’ at least monthly, so you have a safe space to talk. Don’t fancy talking? Just grab the coffee in the comfortable surroundings of your peers knowing they’re there for you.
  • All employees can access a confidential ‘Employee Assistance Programme (EAP)’ available 24/7, 365 days per year.
  • In addition to our EAP, we also partner with Able Futures. They can help employees manage their mental health at work so they can enjoy more good days. They do this by providing up to nine months advice and guidance from a mental health specialist, helping employees learn coping mechanisms, build resilience, access therapy or work with us (as your employer) to make adjustments to help your mental health at work.
  • Employees can access their pay as they earn it through our financial wellbeing platform ‘Wagestream,’ a tool that lets you track your earnings in real-time, access a percentage of your pay as you earn it, learn easy tips for managing your money and save straight from your pay into pots for the future.

The Mental Health Charter is a social movement to change the way people think and act about mental health challenges. The charter started in 2020 and is growing year on year!

They support workplaces like us by:

  • Encouraging workplaces to make a public commitment by signing the “Workplace Mental Health Charter Commitment”
  • Working with them to develop robust action plans to help them turn their commitment into real change
  • Empowering employee champions, with lived experience of mental health problems, to stamp out stigma and encourage conversation educating as many as possible where and when to seek help.
  • Providing the tools to deliver lasting change through ongoing support, training and networking.
